2003-2012 were years I will always remember fondly. These were my years of involvement in amateur rugby league, in Wolverhampton and also in Yorkshire.
In these times a lot of memories were made. I learned a lot about myself and from others. I increased my own skillset. I helped influence many different players in their own rugby journeys, and had a lot of fun in the meantime.
A lot of hard work went into these times and a lot of development and growth occurred, not just in me but in the players too. It was one heck of a journey. Not everything went to plan. Not everything was done well. But it was a journey to remember forever.
This isn’t just a retrospective post for the sake of it. This is to say thank you to everyone who was involved in those days. To those who were on my side, who had my back, who wanted me to succeed, and to those also who were the opposition – sport isn’t sport without opposition. Thank you for inspiring us to good things.
To all those who were a part of this era, I will raise a glass to your good health tonight and we should also remember those no longer with us.
Thank you for 8 years that will be with many of us for life.
